Hebrews 12:11

Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness.

Pruning is uncomfortable in the moment but kind in the long run. God is not punishing you; He is shaping fruit. Trust the gardener with the shears.
